Each month I am privileged to think about the magnificent people I’ve met, engaged, learned from and with, and contributed my energy and heart toward shaping a world where people love their life’s work. We all rise by lifting others and that’s a deliberate choice to invite change. Remembering the power within to choose how we relate to the conditions of our lives offers balance to the moments we feel unsafe, hurt and suffering. Sometimes a simple breath restores connection with our resourcefulness. More than one breath motivates each of us to disrupt our attention. We courageously turn our focus toward what is possible when we originate a new idea, create something tangible with that idea, experiment and learn how what we create serves and ultimately produce a useful outcome that we share with others. A continuous cycle of reciprocal prosperity arises from being generative.

In this season of holidays that the calendar marks from now through February, of year endings and new year beginnings, all of us at inviteCHANGE extend our gratitude for the privilege to serve leaders, teams, enterprises, and individuals around the world through generative coaching and coaching education. Thank you for your faith in our work and through it, your choice to invite change through a positive ripple, shaping our world with people who love their life’s work!

Part of our quest during this season includes a focus on lifting every person’s experience on Planet Earth. 2022 was also a year to lean into evolution. You likely noticed, evolution doesn’t stop, even if humanity does periodically. Learning to see the world through an archetypal eye transcends the systemic ways we produce othering and “isms.” By inviting a deeper connection with the pattern of energies that help us recognize human evolution over the past five thousand years, we can apply that history to an emerging future with greater wholeness and internally directed power.

Last month I asked the question, “what is the top-line melody in your life right now that you choose to nurture and strengthen?” Mine sustains with expressing courageously and discovering more ways to move beyond fixing deficits to inviting and applying human wholeness in new ways collectively. Nothing in our known universe and eco-system operates in singularity - not our bodies, not nature, not stars, planets, or black holes. Our human mind's need for reductionist thinking to cope with the natural and systemic complexity of interconnected things puts forth the idea of "purpose-driven" and "being of single purpose." This thinking tries to calm the intensity of what is organically and perfectly chaotic to the perceiver, who ultimately misses the beautiful patterns in the search for simplicity. Not to say that choosing an intentional focus of attention is a bad idea. Rather choosing this with the appreciation that whatever lever we pull, pulls other levers we can't see. This phenomenon requires our full presence to notice the unexpected that emerges. You and I, individually, never see all the world. That is a mystery that serves as a great equalizer for humanity. Ah, yes, falling in love with the messiness that reveals the miraculous.

May you enjoy miracles large and small through the season ahead that fuel a quest for the world you shape, in which you love your life’s work. We are grateful for your presence in our orbit and look forward to continuing the journey next years to come.
