“Being thankful is not always experienced as a natural state of existence, we must work at it, akin to a type of strength training for the heart.” – Larissa Gomez

Giving thanks daily is a wellbeing and self-care practice for me. Somehow, it also generates a deeper relationship with the US holiday celebrated at the end of November, called Thanksgiving. Under the surface of family gatherings for great food, beverage, and conversation, we all have an opportunity to also keep learning, gaining understanding, choosing forgiveness, and seeking healing for our oppressive history as a nation.

Each day presents a choice, in every conversation and relationship in our lives, to affirm the power of dignity for all humanity. When that power arises from an authentic inner authority we call personal sovereignty, I realize how deeply grateful I am for our livelihood as generative coaches.

While I am tempted to feel the pull of the season of holidays during the month of December, I am equally drawn to my commitment to finish the year strong and squeeze energy into every last moment to generate an uplifting impact for others. Will you join me?

You will see a tile below announcing my appearance on the public television series called, Empowered hosted by Meg Ryan. My first day of November was spent in the filming studios which was both thrilling, humbling and over the top FUN! When this releases later in December, I trust you will find at least one (and hopefully more) golden threads to support your leadership, your entrepreneurial spirit, and the coaching you provide with and for others in your life.

Our final session of the Vanguard Conversation Series, featured global visionary leader, Shariff Abdullah. His presence and his words inspired us all as he modeled generative leading in a live fishbowl dialogue with the audience. His ability to frame the tension between the qualities of apathy and inspiration demonstrated relevance for learning to lean into tension and discover the power that arises from thoughtful listening and engagement. Be sure to explore his latest book, Birthing the Nation of Gaia. It is sure to breakthrough any apathy you may be feeling about the enormity of world crises and move yourself into action that respects and enlivens your unique journey. I want to also thank my co-host for the series, Founder and Editor of Choice, The Magazine of Professional Coaching, Garry Schleifer. Your partnership and faith in being disruptors together fuels inspiration to keep reaching beyond the norm.

You will see lots of resources to sustain your momentum to finish the year strong, including the pre-sale for the new book I wrote, From Tension to Transformation: A Leader's Guide to Generative Change. Stay tuned on social media for the announcement of the pre-sale date on Amazon. I am so honored to showcase the leaders around the world who embody the emotional courage to step into disruption and lead from heart-filled wholeness and dignity. Thank you for allowing me to tell your stories.

My wish for each of you from our team here at inviteCHANGE is to give focused attention toward pausing to breathe and give thanks, letting gratitude fill your hearts. Throughout all the struggle, our common experience also includes love, the quality that binds us together. May you enjoy and contribute to creating islands of sanity, (thank you Meg Wheatley!) even if only in moments, and remember we are all one human family.

Here's to loving your life's work even more throughout December and beyond!
