CEO CORNER - NOVEMBER 2023 NEWSLETTER

As you delve into the rich tapestry of insights and reflections offered in this month's blog, we invite you to reflect on the power of generative change and its potential to heal, reveal new possibilities, foster collaboration, and strengthen compassionate decision-making. Embrace the belief shift and take inspired action.

How is your path to finishing strong going for you? October was a full month here at inviteCHANGE, and we have many valuable resources for you to explore as we enter November. You will find many tiles below for podcasts, webinars, conference videos, articles, and papers from inviteCHANGE team members and our graduate community. I feel deep gratitude in my heart for the many ways being generative spreads across the world. One bittersweet way is with the departure of our beloved Director of Customer Experience, Erin Moncada. For more than six years, she has tended to the inspiration of coaching education participants and enterprise customers who sought learning and transformation. She embodies grace, joy, and unwavering commitment to "yes" for everyone she engages. Thank you, Erin, and may your next dream to fulfill your first love of the performing arts be amplified by your excellence as a generative coach and leader!

Before you go exploring the many resources offered, I want to share a few things in my heart and my mind that being generative may support you as we all navigate the intensity of human society today. Once again, the human family feels profound emotional and physical disruption in our sense of well-being. We are witnessing horrific acts of violence and death in nearly every homeland, streamed nonstop through technology. No matter who you are or your beliefs, it's quite challenging to escape the impact on our ability for compassion. It is crucial to remember the power of pause, creating time for pause as a priority so we can catch our breath, hold our loved ones, pray for the suffering, and connect to a voice that calls our higher selves and angels to rise. Your practices for grounding to the earth, the cycles of nature, and the rhythm of an awakened heart are what's called for now. Tap into your sense of personal sovereignty, the inner authority for every person to choose how we relate to the conditions of our lives. When we exercise this power, we gain the agility to respond with integrity to our values, especially the value of dignity for everyone in the human family. It's through our stories that we remember to love and to create spaces for healing; be that person who tells stories to bring people together.

All year, we've been exploring a technique that produces Generative Wholeness™, the state of being for each person to sustain excellence in the face of change. On 17 November, as the final segment of our annual Vanguard Conversation Series, we will host another of our global visionary leaders, Shariff Abdullah. As Director of Commonway Institute, he has visited over 43 countries and 100 distinct cultures, giving him a unique perspective on our global human and spiritual issues and a vision that spans culture and class. It is fitting, given the state of society on Planet Earth right now, that we explore the tension of presence framed by the qualities of Apathy and Inspiration. Sitting in discomfort just a little longer opens the door to accessing both qualities in a ratio that evokes the best of both for the moment, moving from emotional reactivity to thoughtful responsiveness.

The adage that there are no accidents comes to mind as I notice what we will close our adventure with this year with this particular tension of presence. Learning how to apply the power of deeper reflection on our experience of thorny problems and challenges provides stories that heal, reveal new possibilities, foster collaboration and partnership, and strengthen decisions that demonstrate a social mindset that pursues life-affirming and compassionate choices. Meaningful conversations that generate human connectedness require one critical belief shift about leading and one critical shift in action to lead.

In these turbulent times, it is crucial to connect with our faith in each other. The more ambiguous our environment, the more importance we must give to our relationships.

Also happening in November is an empowering mini-conference hosted by ICF Raleigh, “Navigating Human Connection and Coaching in a World of AI.”  I'll be speaking on the subject of coaching ethics and AI, and there are eight more amazing colleagues providing a holistic way to think about this evolution and how you want to choose to relate to it in the months to come.

Please also stay tuned for a social media announcement as I learned that the new book, From Tension to Transformation: A Leader's Guide to Generative Change, will be available for pre-sale before the month is gone.

I am so honored to showcase the leaders around the world who embody the emotional courage to step into disruption and lead from heart-filled wholeness and dignity. Thank you for allowing me to tell your stories.
