Be A Generative Team Coach

Lyne Tumlinson, PCC & Janet M. Harvey, MCC, co-hosted by ICF Heartland, Kansas, USA

Be a Team Coach. Working one-to-many is the future path of opportunity for coaches. More work occurs through teams than individuals in organizations of all sizes. However, talent systems often focus on rewarding individual behavior. This stimulates conflict and reduces both positivity and productivity in teams. Learning to team and be account-able for the emotional and social intelligence of the team occurs most quickly and thoroughly with the support of an artful team coach. The session focuses on generative team coaching, clarifies the role and scope to be artful team coach and identifies the ways that amplify the ICF core competencies and allow your unique expression to shine through for your clients.

What does coronavirus have in common with what we are experiencing globally in terms of the loss of biodiversity, loss of fertile soils, decreasing food nutrition, increasing air pollution, increasing acidification and plastics in the ocean have in common? We have been thrown into a stark awareness of the deep interconnected nature of our existence. Unravel a thread in one part of the globe, and the reverberations are felt within weeks everywhere, rippling out along every aspect of our interdependent lives and ways of living. If we pause and follow these ripples, what might we and our clients discover, what might we become aware of that we haven’t being paying attention to? What is the learning for us in relation to our practice development? How do we work with the interdependencies?

Team Coaching Thru The Lens of System Dynamics

Karen Tweedie, MCC Australia

Every coach can enhance the value they can bring to clients when, in addition to their existing knowledge, experience, tools and skills, they can bring an understanding of the fundamentals of System Dynamics. 5 Principles underpin System Dynamics, and they provide a useful lens for observing, and a structure for conducting coaching interviews. They support us to find out what is really going on and a map for potential next steps. In this session Karen Tweedie MCC explains the systemic principles, revisits the fundamentals of team coaching, and defines the coach’s optimum role in working effectively with the team. To illustrate how a knowledge of system dynamics can enhance team coaching she will step through a Team Coaching assignment – from taking the client brief, to designing the approach, delivering the coaching and then measuring the results achieved. This real-life illustration of the practical application of the five principles is designed to inspire you to bring an extra dimension to workyou do with teams

7 Habits of Highly Ethical Coaches

Beth Buelow, PCC co-hosted by ICF Washington State

"Demonstrates Ethical Practice” is Core Competency number one for a reason: without an ethical underpinning to your work, all of the other competencies are compromised. The guidelines can seem clear-cut and unambiguous on paper, right? But you only have to have been coaching for a short time to realize that things can get a bit messy and the lines a little fuzzy out in the real world.

This interactive session offers an in-depth critical review of the ICF Code of Ethics and explores the many situations that challenge our relationship to that Code. Through the presentation of video interviews with a diverse group of experienced coaches, real-life examples of ethics in action, and peer learning, participants will engage with the content and one another to deepen their understanding of what it means to make ethical practices the foundation of their coaching work.

Build Your Foundation on Trust and Safety

Lyssa deHart, MCC Washington, USA

Without trust and safety, the opportunity for vulnerability, self-exploration, and deep insight is lost. One might say the entire coaching relationship lives on the foundation of Trust & Safety. Not surprisingly, it’s crucial to create rapport and a safe space where clients feel comfortable to dive below the surface. Getting to the underlying issues requires a deeply trusting relationship.

Together, we’ll cover:

● The coach’s depth of connection to the client

● The coach’s depth of demonstration of trust in the client and the client’s processes of thinking, creating

● The coach’s willingness to be completely comfortable with their own authenticity with the client

“Trust is the glue of life. It's the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It's the foundational principle that holds all relationships.” Stephen R. Covey.

Key Elements in a Professional Coach's Continuous Self-Development

Christine Gao, PCC

This webinar will be presented in Mandarin

Who you are is how you coach and, when we ignore this connection between the self and what we want clients to see, our personal brand is confusing. Confusion blocks are clients from making choices, especially for themselves. Confusion makes it harder to grow our coaching practice. No matter how much or little time and experience you have as a coach, everyone benefits from thinking about how people recognize you and your value. These are two of the elements of a personal brand that this webinar explores. The session also considers the long-term career path for coaching and the influence personal branding has on both success and sustaining satisfaction and the type of clients you find most rewarding to serve.

Rony Gruber, PCC co-hosted by ICF Israel

For you to 'dance in the moment' you and your client must hear the same music. You have to create a harmonious space that inspires the two of you to be present and flexible, an agreed-upon structure that encourages diverse aspects of your strengths and abilities to be utilized.

I would like to introduce you to the 'Director's Chair' a powerful coaching tool which harnesses Cinema as a metaphor. This webinar will allow you to experience and understand how using Cine Inspired Coaching makes it easier for coaches and their clients to move between different perspectives intuitively and creatively.

Every Film needs a scriptwriter, a director, and an actor. The movie which we all call our life is no exception. Even in Hollywood, you could count on one hand the number of artists who have mastered all these trades. Each one of us is a 'natural' in something, exercising different skills. Some of us are intuitive planers; others like to delve into detailed planning while others enjoy acting without a program, seeing where life takes them.

Understanding these primary roles, maximizing our performance in each of them and fluidly being able to change points of view through grasping the interconnections within the big picture is the key to instigating change.

Time Is A Leader’s Commodity To Use Wisely

Janet Harvey, MCC Washington, USA

Actions influence more strongly the words and build within us a compass to navigate our own life and the values associated with those choices that have us belong. Because this imprint occurs early in life, our decision-making habits are well-worn and challenge living from a growth mind-set when we want to do so as adults. The pattern for actions influencing more strongly than words is vibrant in organizational life. How a leader chooses and what a leader chooses to give attention and energy is translated by team members and the workforce at large as central to the social norms expected to be followed. When choices about relating to time occur by habit rather than on purpose, discord can result unexpectedly. A leader who is experienced to “not walk the talk” of the espoused company values and mission will not have followers. Without followers, teams cannot scale to meet the growth demand the company strategy envisions.
