About Robin DiAngelo

I am a former Associate Professor of Multicultural Education (Westfield State University) and currently Affiliate Faculty at the University of Washington. My scholarship is in Critical Discourse Analysis and Whiteness Studies. In addition to my academic work, I have been a consultant, mediator, and workplace racial equity trainer for over 20 years. I have numerous publications and books, including “What Does it Mean to be White?: Developing White Racial Literacy." My first book, co-authored with Özlem Sensoy: "Is Everyone Really Equal: An Introduction to Social Justice Education" received the Critic's Choice Award by the American Educational Studies Association and the Education Award from the American Educational Research Association. My latest book, "White Fragility: Why Its So Hard For White People To Talk About Racism" (Beacon Press) was released in June of 2018 and debuted on the NYT Bestseller List.
